Greetings Agastache and Salvia forum
I am a member returning from an hiatus of a couple of years and see there have been many changes.
For the first time this year (2017), i grew Salvia farinacea "Victoria Blue" from seed and in a location without shade in the USDA Zone 11, latitude 19 hot sun. I heavily added home made compost to the soil and added about 7.5 cm (3") of dry Neem leaf mulch after i planted the seedlings, watered and held my breath. The small plants grew rapidly and bunched so nicely and didn't even droop in the afternoon sun. I was so proud of them. They did not often ask for water. They did not attract bugs other than pollinators, and the leaves were so beautifully fragrant. I believe the common name for this plant is mealy cup, or something like that. As a strictly organic gardener, i was prepared with a bottle of sudsy water to deal with the mealies when they showed up, but they never did the plants remained pest free. I was not so lucky with the Agastaches
