I noticed this white tip on the sepals in this blown up photo of Pink Lavender Appeal, and wondered how common it might be.
Today I looked closely at the photo of my Avatar, Nivia Guest, and spotted the same tips there. Maybe it is a result of a photo soon after the bud has unfurled. One can't see it when the sepals curl back further.

I'm curious whether anyone has an explanation. Could it be a result of the breeding background?
