1) Please check the Plant Database to make sure any you list has not been a featured daylily of the day cultivar before adding to your list.

2) Please pick cultivars that you OWN, that ALSO list several other owners (at "least" 3 members that have the cultivar) as "have" in the database so that more members here on NGA can post their evaluations. The more members that own a plant, the better (to have numerous evaluations). Please also make sure that you post the correct name and spelling of the cultivars you list. You can list up to 20 cultivars that you actually own and are willing to post an evaluation for when the cultivar is featured as the Daylily of the Day.

3) And don't forget that you can post an evaluation at any time to any of the Daylily of the Day threads. An acorn will be awarded for each evaluation. You can post "annual" evaluations of any cultivars at least a year after your previous evaluation of that cultivar. (And earn another acorn tip!) Previous featured Daylilies of the Day cultivar threads can be found in this forum. They are listed in alphabetical order:

That is almost a direct quote of Becky's post but maybe seeing it broken down it will be a little clearer.
An evaluation is basically just the comments you post about a cultivar: Nice things to include would be height, boom size, rust resistance, just anything saying why you like the plant. Or, it is too short, the blooms are down in the foliage, it takes forever to increase, etc. reasons you do not like the plant.
Edit: Forgot, no it does not have to be blooming, but it would be much better if you have at least seen it bloom in your garden previously. Of course you could comment on the foliage: Leaf streak, fans have dark green color, fans have beautiful shape etc.
If you look a daylily up in the daylily database this is an example of what you will see. It shows that this cultivar has already been featured, and that 44 other members own it. You would be able to go to a featured plant of the day at any time and add comments about it.
