Thanks for the welcome, Onewish! I am not that tech savvy so not sure how to answer individually but I love gardeners and gardening sites! Everyone is usually so friendly and helpful.

Thank you, Xerantheum, for the details and photos. I am keeping a close eye on my one little plant and will try what you have described. I'll let you know what happens.

Pistil, from what I have read they are fairly common to our area in North Florida, but I had never seen one until this one appeared in the flower bed. Supposedly they grow in marshy, river or creek-side areas, and we are close to a lake so that may be how it came to be in our yard. I love the little plant and it has come back three years in a row, but it's not spreading as I understood from the reading material. Hoping it does! Wish me luck!
