Tiffany: I don't know how you are planting them, but up North here where I am, I have to plant them in tubs, staggered plantings so I have them for a longer time, because it is so much easier to pull them, for winter storage. In your case, I would still consider some type of circular planting in the ground, where you can perhaps put a tomato wire cage on top of same, which will keep them from falling over. Cheers!
