I have been combing the database for iris of the above description. So far, I have come up with only three: Pacific Fire ( which I own), Fit For Royalty, and Jacob.

Pacific Fire was planted by me last fall and bloomed for me this spring. It was not the color depicted on most of the database pictures. Aside from the very red beards, I would call it a mid-violet. In the midday I was not impressed, particularly, but when toward evening the slanting rays of the sun lit it up, it looked truly on fire! I love it, and can't wait for it to multiply.

I would love to hear from people who have either of these three cultivars, ( or others that meet my title description) as to how you like them.

Now, I need to figure out how to show pictures of these from the database. I still have not unloaded my camera's photos of Pacific Fire.
