On Jun 30, 2018 8:49 AM CDT I put a pic of a tree that was getting tall enough to bump into the roof of the porch where it lives. Soon after, a storm blew that stem sideways and it stayed that way. I left it so it would develop an interesting bend in the stem, intending to cut it before bringing it in when it gets cold.

It's the stem all the way to the right,

and the interesting bend is in progress at the tip.

Today I noticed that at the top of the bend, there are new stems starting to form.

And another one at a previous cut point, about 2.5 feet up from the soil level.

A few weeks ago I noticed this new stem coming from the root/trunk juncture, which I exposed during a repot about 6-8 years ago.

One of the stems of the taller plant in this pot was broken in the same storm. It looks like 2 new branches will replace it.

Another 'Limelight' being the center of attention in this pot.

D. braunii (lucky bamboo) growing a new stem from a cut one, and another new stem from the roots.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
