Would love to see your updates! I have done similar root trimming, but I did it while my plant was dormant. I was almost so regretful after I have done the trim, I thought I have done wrong, just took awhile to stay longer in dormancy, but it quickly bounced back when warm weather returned in late Spring. I did also some branch pruning so it was nerve wracking for me Smiling
