Gene, your marking system would not be affected by the system I described, that you could use only for cross-pollination. I did not try to find each of the symbols from your (very cool) plant markers, but you should be able to find them at one of these reference sites:

You could paste each one along the top of your spreadsheet, to copy/paste as needed, instead of trying to use the whole reference &/or looking each symbol up each time you want to use it.
