Your Tillandsia looks fine .. don't worry about the roots .. pretty much all they do is act as anchors for the plant to hold on to something. I don't see any cupping of the leaves which tells me it's getting plenty of moisture so keep doing what you're doing! These guys are slow growers so be patient and go easy on the plant food.
