Thanks but I'm not sure those will work for me. I'm thinking it's not just the cold but the stress of being in the city. The ones I've tried in the front yard have to be in pots. They endure stray cats jumping in said pots, lots of reflected heat and sun and passing people pulling off the flowers and damaging the plant in the process. The ones in the backyard are shoved in with all the other plants I'm trying to grow in a very small space. They also have to contend with polluted runoff after every heavy rain. The only ones that have done really well for me are the Drift Roses. Those are tough! They catch most of the runoff and aren't phased one bit! All the other roses died.
