Here is another distribution map that shows it in a few more counties but still not Nueces County. Judging by this map I would bet that it is in most counties in the eastern half of Texas.

The two center pictures on the bottom row are a wild plant and the others are plants in my garden grown from a wild plant I collected. You can see how the leaf shape changed the following year with the move from the wild to my garden.
