Ok,

I had to go back and re-read the system messages. I also clicked on 'comments' under 'Plant Database Contributions' and neither one said anything about an acorn or partial acorn for the comment. The one I thought I got the acorn for was really for a 'data proposal.' So basically I cannot see where I have been given any acorns for comments.

So, I guess it's a good thing you brought this up.
