I have been given a small box of assorted Protea seeds from a person who got them in South Africa but then decided propagation is not her thing and just let them there. Until now that is, and guess who should do the propagation? Hilarious!
I know I'll need some smoke seed primer for them (easily available on the Internet) and I think I'll use either pure perlite or mineral cat litter as a propagation medium, but since she doesn't remember when she got these seeds (she has been in SA a lot of times over the past decade) I have no idea if these seeds will still be vital.
Also I'd like to know a few extra things about these seeds, namely how moist I should keep the growing medium, if they need light to germinate, how deep they should go etc. Over the last couple of years it seems my once green thumb has grown sickly brown so I need all the help I can get! nodding
I am just another white boy who thinks he can play the Blues.
