Spectacular here in a dry garden. We never saw a hummingbird in our yard until the year we planted these. We lose it some years, though. I'm not sure if our soggy, spring snowstorms finish it off or what. I keep trying it in different places to see if I can find a location with the right drainage and exposure to keep it happy long-term. The stems are brittle and easily broken off at the base, so it's best to plant it where people don't have to brush by it. Seed-grown plants typically bloom (lightly but satisfyingly) the first year.
