That is not as unusual as you might think. I see this a great deal with extended bloomers on narrow petaled things that are trying to partially open the day before, fully open during the night, and look pretty "normal" when they are fully opened the next morning. WALT LOWRY from Sandy Holmes looks like this a lot the day before the blooms open. Quirky, interesting, no doubt...another aspect in breeding for extended bloomers that are fully open first thing in the morning. Daylilies are so interesting!!
