Yep. And I chose to make my friends my relatives because they have always loved me unconditionally and expected nothing in return....unlike my family who put terms and conditions on everything in this life. Sad but true as it shouldn't be that way. I have my husband and my friends and neighbors.

I count myself lucky. I am very lucky for I am indeed loved deeply and valued by those who have shown me for decades just how much I mean to them when I needed it the most and when it really counted and mattered. They were always there when my family was not.

No, they may not be tied to me by blood but does that really matter? My feeling is that blood may be thicker than water but it sure doesn't flow faster or stronger.
