(sorry, thread should be entitled "White Crust Particles on MULCH"(not on soil))

Hi everyone,
I have a Lemon Madeline daylily that has been throwing out beautiful blooms for me for weeks but I noticed that the mulch just around the plant's crown(about an 8" radius) has white crusty particles on it. This, coupled with the fans being brown and dingy near the base of the plant has me concerned about it. All of the fans are still very green and lush away from the base and the buds and blooms continue to do very well to this day. It has many neighboring daylilies with no issues like this whatsoever.

Should I be concerned about the health of the plant?(or neighbors)
