I purchased Phil 2 months ago for a steal at the local grocery, and little did I know, it had root rot. Leaves were turning more brown quickly and leaves were dropping. I took the necessary steps to treat Phil; dug up the roots, washed and dried off, replanted with new soil. It was facing a west facing window.
Root rot slowly went away, and the leaves did not seem to be growing so I moved it to an east facing window, trying to get the right light for the plant. Note my north and south facing window is blocked by a huge house so it wouldn't be ideal situation. Once I moved Phil to the east facing window (2 feet away from the window), he had new growth! I think he likes it there. I do notice there is brown spotting under the leaves and holes on the new growth. Wondering what that could be? I've been spraying the plant down with water/soap solution every week in case of spider mites that could be munching on the plant. I've inspected it every few days or so but have not seen any bugs. What are these holes from? They are also on the older leaves.
