Funny you would say that, Neal. I've never grown dianthus from seed before (the variety I'm sowing is dianthus turkestanicus alba). I always think of dianthus as fairly hardy--it's one of my first plants to green up in the spring, and one of the last to die off in the fall. I think I have a lot to learn yet......
