Cuttings have no way to take up water so watering will just induce rot. No watering until you have leaf growth!
Let it callous for a week, making sure the cut you made is clean. Then put in very well draining soil (preferably amended with perlite) in a warm spot.
The fact that your cutting made blooms right away probably slowed down the rooting process.

It would be helpful to know where you are, and also a picture would be great!
