An update on my heuff 'Torrid Zone' x 'Gold Bug' younglings, 16 months old now. Colors keep deepening and intensifying, and some level of varying rosette forms showing. I realize it is early yet, and will have a better idea of how they'll turn out after 3 years, but it's fascinating watching change from week to week. Photos taken in the late afternoon shaded by an adjacent house.

Flat #1, a couple here siding more towards 'Gold Bug'

Flat #2-3, I wonder if the tight deep red one will stay tight growing?

Flat #4-5, I'm puzzled by the tiny rosette, these plants are all same age, so why is that one so tiny, is it just a runt? All summer it's been yellow toned, then suddenly from just 1 week ago, it's gone over to red. Such fun observing these babies.
