I just bought a few LED shop light units at walmarts for under $22. They are 5000k bright light (great for plants) 5000 lumuns and 34 watts of power. Which makes it cheap to operate and good for the plants to supplement lighting at dark windows. Hung from the ceiling over the plants.
I too had just finished up when last night we dipped to the 30's with scattered frost around our area.

I think all my LED lights add up to about 400 watts usage. Which is less than half what it was with fluorescent lamps and the LED's are so much better. They are on timers about 1/2 on and 1/2 off.
