As a post script on the tall non blooming bulb. Sometimes, new bulbs don't bloom for unknown reasons. Perhaps it is too young to bloom, or something happened last spring to abort the bud. I have a little sonatini bulb from Hadeco this year, called Juniper. It never broke dormancy. I noticed that Hadeco removed that cultivar from their website. I wonder if the company discovered that something was wrong with that batch of bulbs, and they weren't going to bloom for consumers this winter. The bulb seems to be healthy otherwise, so I planted it outside with the others and will see what happens with it.
