My garden is wide open with no shelter from wind or sun. The winter snow drifts over the plants but because of the open area can blow away. I don't think it is going to make it here. Sighing!

I'm in the same zone as you and mine hasn't bloomed yet. 2019 was its second year in my garden and didn't show much growth from the year before. I bought it in 2017 and replaced it in 2018 as it didn't survive its first winter. The grower, who is in Iowa, suggested that it may not survive in my zone but it is in a protected area so I'm hoping to see a bloom this year, if it survives the winter. The grower said its a finicky plant and that I should stick to dormants in 4a.
