Thank you so much for the quick response. This all makes sense. I have had a lot of flies in the yard and I had a number of trees removed a year ago and there would be roots still in the soil that are still rotting. Have not noticed the smell but I am sure I will now. What an awful plant. I guess I will just have to keep digging them up.
