Actually Burle Marx (first name Roberto) has many many plants named for him. He was Brazilian and was very famous for his award winning designs of parks and gardens. He was also a rainforest conservationist and collected hundreds of plants for his private collections, including hundreds of philodendrons. The story goes that this little philo was discovered climbing up a tree in his garden. I am not even certain anyone knows exactly where it comes from or if it has been really well documented in the wild
