Betty's maps are truely amazing. But so far at least I have moved those daylilies around so much that I never did get around to doing maps. In fact this past fall I mapped my tall bearded iris and thought about doing the daylilies but never did. And the iris maps are just really crude drawings with the names written in.

I use markers but I am really low tec for sure. My markers are white eight inch long plastic plant labels that I write names on in industrial markers. Usually last about three years and fade. This past fall, I redid all the daylily markers in all the beds so they should all be fine for a while now. I just went around one daylily section after another until I got it all done.

I do my iris the same way with the same white plant markers and no fade pen.
