Not first year and might get some second but most times 3rd year they take off.
RJ what ones do you grow in zone 4. I have had best luck with the Winter Jewels series, wish the Frost Kiss ones did better for me but have tried Anna's Red and Penny's Pink twice and they did not overwinter. I am considered zone 6a but being on top of the mountain and lots of winds off the lakes things are much different then just a couple of miles away.
