Dear Neil, how are you? We have had a strange open winter here, only about 80 inches and never more than a foot at a time, then green and rain and lots of wind. Right now there is snow, and my little fairy crocus are out bravely blooming in it. Tomorrow the temps are supposed to reach the mid 50sF and then warm all next week. I've gotten 20 packets of seeds with more to come. My 'little' grandchildren will be here to help with the gardens as the family is moving up here in May - lots of flowers but no broccoli if Jake has his way. Tomatoes and pumpkins and purple bush beans and cosmos and sweet peas and larkspur just to name a few. Erin circled all she wanted in the seed catalogs and I edited a bit. Interesting note: she crossed out all the peppers and parsnips!

Sorry to hear Sarah's beautiful planters were stolen. Lazy people should be fined for both the larceny and being lazy! We have had houses being built stripped of the new wiring and stainless steel bulk tanks that are used for holding maple sap stolen and sold for scrap. The City of Jamestown is restoring their train station and had bought copper eaves troughs that were stolen. It was reported instantly and they apprehended the thief and returned the troughs to the restorers.

Off to get to work. Bread is set, the kitchen squared away, now onto the rest of the house.
