5 parts pine bark screened dust to 3/8"
1 part sphagnum peat
1 part medium or coarse perlite (not super coarse)
a measure of dolomitic lime appropriate to batch size

If you can source the ingredients, you can make it at a fraction of the price of commercially prepared bagged or baled media, and plants will love it. If you like, I'll post some images of some of my mixed plantings to illustrate the vitality of the plants it produces. The pine bark might be difficult to find during this Covid thing, though I just bought a whole pallet of it.
