Mine always look like that. I think it's just what they look like when they are seedlings. You will be just fine.

I will say that in the beginning a seeding mixture is basically very light soil, and doesn't have a lot of fertilizer in it. Primarily you need warmth to germinate, and then light for 14 hours a day. Those are the two key elements. You don't say what zone you are in? In my area it's a bit late to be starting tomatoes from seeds.
