Hi! Do you think sunflowers (mature in 60 days) can be planted today and make it, blooming, until Oct 1?

Also - best way to prevent bunnies eating sunflower seedlings in garden? We have a perimeter fence which apparently has openings large enough for baby bunnies to get through. I've resorted to chicken wire around my kale, anything easier and perhaps less expensive for the sunflowers?

Thanks! Susan in Des Moines
