I have to admit this one caught me "asleep at the switch". Garden and yard work kept me outdoors most of the week so I missed seeing this banner posted until today. There were strong storms across much of the region yesterday which kept me away from the PC. Several areas in this region were in the path of high winds, hail and power outages on Monday, August 10 causing tree and structure damage. Radar images showed potential storm damage in several states including WI, IL, MI, KY, IN, OH and Iowa.
I don't like to dwell on storms, but it is important to pay attention before they occur, and make necessary plans for safety and protection. Here is the photo the banner was taken from in 2008. I had originally planted the shrub as a "start" back in 1994. It wasn't more than a sprout from a seed when given to me.
