One way it rears its head is in the sprawling aloes, members of the genus Aloiampelos, at least some of which have the capacity to full-on branch through one of these small rosettes on an inflorescence. Meaning that the small rosette develops its own stem right below where the flowers used to be, and grows as tall as the parent, eventually flowering (and perhaps branching) in its own right.
Regular bulbils also have the capacity to form new bulbils from their own inflorescences, but these branches don't really go anywhere impressive because they are stemless, like the parents.
