Has anyone got any experience with using metal halide grow lights
I have a bit of a dilemma about what to do this winter. I have put most of my desert cacti outside since spring under a cheap outdoor grow tent. This has been better for the plants but I have( like an idiot) filled all the space vacated by these cacti with other plants. All my south facing sills are full.I have even filled an east facing upstairs window. So when its time to bring in the outside plants i really have nowhere to put them. I stop watering usually in Oct but I don't want to leave them outside as I think it will be too cold, wet and humid. I think i am going to have to get a greenhouse next year (still have reservations about this) but i am trying to think about the best plan for this winter
My idea was to get a cheap racking setup and fix lights to it. I thought LED initially but when i look into this its going to be dam expensive.

I read this article on MH lights
https://xerophilia.ro/wp-conte...

The article is a few years old.

MH a much cheaper option because i could probably get bulbs and fixings for less that £100

The heat levels he is talking about seem crazy. 400w of bulb power heating eight square metres to over 30 degrees Blinking
Has anyone used these lights in any capacity. Be great to hear any experiences or any other ideas for what to do
Steve
