Hosta, remove the leaves when they turn translucent and easy to pull
Ferns I just leave them alone
Swamp milkweed I leave them alone
Rudbeckia/coneflower leave for the birds and winter interest
Daylily, clean up the leaves when they are yellow,
Tall stonecrops, I leave the stalks for next years support
