Hello..... Just curious if anyone else is successfully growing the "pink" variety of Pride of Barbados...?

This is the third year that it has bloomed (or tried to bloom) for me here in Wharton County, southwest of Houston. Neighbor's red/yellow variety blooms constantly throughout the summer while my pink one finally decides it is time to bloom mid October or in November. Lots of green leaves from spring until now and finally some pretty blooms to enjoy.

I don't understand why it waits so long to bloom...? Others experience and comments appreciated.
