In my experience, Southern Hemisphere bulbs reset their biological clocks to the northern hemisphere. So you may have a lag until they bloom again in our second spring. The Dutch Amaryllis are dug up in the summer (theirs and ours), put into cold rooms to force hibernation, then shipped in Oct-Dec so they think it is spring when they arrive at our homes, blooming Dec-Feb the first year. Southern Hemisphere bulbs are dug in their summer, put into cold storage in their fall (our spring) and shipped in Sept, Oct. They usually bloom the first year in Dec.
