Chip, more great bread. Especially great looking mini peppers (!) and really lovely view.
JB, the cooked and served dish certainly looks better than it did in progress! Turkey and gravy is right up my aisle, but looking at a pile of peas, I react like a 7-year old.
Nice job on the tacos, Tom. You're a patient man to simmer the sirloin "all afternoon" and make your own tortillas. They are photogenic.
Kq, I'm not surprised that the surprise worked. And now you have a variation to throw into the rotation.
AG at some point, you should let lentils be more a star. They really do make for good eats and there are good dishes to make that feature them well. I'm a big fan of lentil soup and have made it in a variety of ways. It's on tap for later this week, as next Sunday, in spite of Covid-separation, our church is having a "Souperbowl Sunday." Bringing soup to church will only be a matter of bringing it into reach of Zoom. We'll still collect cans of soup and money for local hunger-action programs.
The DO picked up a very large salmon filet. As it was so thick, half of it made for two dinners. After seasoning it with just s/p, I seared the skin in a cast iron skillet and brushed it with butter. I then coated it with panco to which I added some thyme, oregano, onion and garlic powder. That got cooked up in the oven for about 12 minutes with a splash of white wine. I gave the top a quick brown under the broiler. Salmon was served with skillet potatoes with minced onions, and roasted asparagus topped with shaved parm (the real stuff). Dr. Frank's dry Riesling.
We've got a long-lasting nor'easter blowing in. It's fine with me. Tomorrow is my day off, and I can easily work from home Tuesday. We've lots of food in the house, and firewood. I also have the snow removal team lined up, although from the looks of things it'll all melt before too long. The only problem is that I'm going to have to cancel all those big big social gatherings and wild parties.
