I grew this plant from seed obtained from the RHS (UK) many years ago. Although it has never flowered (and never will in this zone) it makes a spectacular clump of six foot foliage by late summer and it is the last to shed its leaves by late Fall. I thoroughly recommend trying this if you are OK with having no flowers! It is growing on the east facing side of a large cedar hedge, with shallow soil over clay, and receives no supplemental watering or feeding.
