Well....I am not really sure you can overwater it. I don;t even grow the ones I have in my greenhouse in any media. They are mounted to their mounts like orchids, completely growing epiphytical no soil. The ones in my terrarium, have their ends in moss. I spray they with water pretty much daily, they soak up whet that want. Some people find it easier to start them in a soil mix. But they will grow completely epiphytically
