This hesitant gardener has a new home and new challenge. We have a sloped yard and I'd like to have some kind of bed for a few veggies and herbs. Tomato and peppers, letuce mostly. Id like an interesting shape, something to echo the curve of the hill but have a bit of rustic aesthetic. Landscape timbers don't feel right and I was thinking of a set of steel curves backfilled like a small (2-3 foot high) retaining walls. Is there a health or safety reason to not use a metal near veggies? .
