We have a brick house that was not sloped right in the back. We have a large shed perpendicular to the house, and we have seen water travel toward the house in heavy down pours, run next to the foundation... Then there is a corner, due to an sun porch that was built later where the water builds up, as there are brick steps that go up to the sun room. I don't know what to do to fix it. I can tell water once has gotten into the basement (no sign of it now) because the bathroom was remodeled down stairs (I have been here for a year and never seen water YET). I know I can bring dirt in, and BUT because of the corner and the steps, that isn't gong to work very well. I have a question, There is a raised bed on the North side of the house, and the problem area is on the West side. If I hired a contractor to put in a raised bed, and somehow do the corner, would that help? I was thinking of the contracter laying a drain in front of the raised bed, but would have to make the turn in front of the bottom step. The whole back property slopes from North to south
