Oh that's sad Alex. Glad you were able to rescue some!

I was reading somewhere that some people put the blind roots in plastic bags with peat moss or wood chips until they see eyes develop. I think they were doing this on varieties known to be adventitious. They just kept them in a dark, warm place and checked on them. Once they saw sprouts on the roots they planted them out.
