If so, I would agree.

The true 'FP' flowers I've seen have more tepals (petaloids?) and a much clearer/cleaner color. I could be way off...please let me know if I am!

A "petaloid" (which is more correctly an adjective but even Stout used it as a noun sometimes) is a plant part that resembles a petal but isn't, it means petal-like. Usually in daylilies it refers to a petaloid stamen. A "tepal" is a word for petals and sepals when they are pretty much indistinguishable, unlike many other plants where the petals are coloured and the sepals are green. 'Kwanso's doubleness is mostly from petaloid stamens, whereas 'Flore Pleno's look more like actual extra layers of petals.
