Yeah this has happened before LOL. Most notably with Alocasia xAmazonica. Not a species, not a hybrid. Named after the nursery where the owner discovered a 'sport' of Alocasia sanderiana and named it after his nursery, Amazonica Nursery, which was a nursery down in So FL back in the day
