Edit… I was corrected in the next couple posts :-)
I think your Late Summer Breeze has prebloom as Char said. The base of the scape is not coming out from the middle of the fan but from between outer leaves. I used your pic and put a couple arrows on it. Left arrow points down to the base of scape, showing it's not coming out from the center of the fan. Smaller arrow at top points to middle leaves of fan and possibly a tiny scape coming up there which would bloom later.
