I had Charles Johnston bloom last year for gthe first time, and it is FABULOUS. I think it is my favorite red (and red is my predominant color) I had it planted behind a cottage daylily that outgrew it in height, so I transplanted it last year, and it didn't do well - I babied it a bit, and hoped it hadn't died. But, it has survived the winter and is doing OK this spring so far. Even though the clump size is smaller, I am thrilled it is thriving now.

I just ordered and received a couple of Mick Morry's WWI series - Passchendaele and Lest We Ever Forget. They are going into pots temporarily while I build my military bed - hopefully I will get a good start on it this weekend. Nice hugs fans from Karen Newman, who I believe is his US seller.

Thanks for posting such beautiful photos! ~Jan
