I have received some monster fans from some Southern and Mid.. sellers and I must tell you within the same growing season and being cared for with lots of good soil, water, fertilizer and TLC they shrink to a smaller size. I don't know if it is the strength of the sunlight here VS South or night temps. being cooler, but it happens on all of them. DL take longer to adjust in the N. and may be 2-3 years to bloom, but I do not think it matters if they are monsters from the S. or puny N. ones. . This being said I would hope others would give them a chance from a N. seller as they have been tested in harsher weather and are of hardier stock than some S. ones and I honestly have not seen a difference in them once they are planted. Both have advantages and Disadvantages. What is surprising is how some of the Evergreen ones can be as hardy as they are.
